Preliminary Task -- The Script



             ROOP ARORA AS MEDIA PRELIMINARY TASK SCRIPT


     1)(EXT. SHOTTFIELD AVENUE. SUNDAY)

The camera is on the other side of the street and shows Rahul Puri walking up to the front door.

   (RAHUL PURI)
   -Stage directions

       
       2)(EXT. SHOTTFIELD AVENUE. SUNDAY)
  
The camera is in the corner of the front porch area showing Rahul Puri walking up to the door and knocking.
  
   (RAHUL PURI)
   -Stage directions

    
      3)(EXT. SHOTTFIELD AVENUE. SUNDAY)
  
The camera is right behind Rahul's shoulder as the door opens. Sophie Puri then opens the door with a smile.
  
   (SOPHIE PURI)
   ‘Hey Rahul, How are you? Come in.’  



  4)(INT. SHOTTFIELD AVENUE. SUNDAY)
  
The camera is behind Sophie's shoulder and films Rahul   walking in through the front door.
 
   (RAHUL PURI)
  ‘I’m fine thanks Soph, how have you been?’

 
  5)(INT. SHOTTFIELD AVENUE. SUNDAY)

The camera is on the side of Sophie and angles/spins round to her face who moves out of the way to let Rahul in then speaks.

   (SOPHIE PURI)'
Yeah, good thanks. 
Please, make yourself  comfortable’


  6)(INT. SHOTTFIELD AVENUE. SUNDAY)
  
The camera is then at the back of the kitchen(next to the sink) and shows Rahul putting his coat on the bannister and walk into the dining room.

  (RAHUL PURI)
  'Thank you'
          

7) (INT. SHOTTFIELD AVENUE. SUNDAY)

The camera is in the dining room facing the  opening to the kitchen and shows Rahul enter  and take a seat at the chair on the other side  of the room whilst Sophie is already sitting  down. Sophie is still in focus.

   (SOPHIE PURI)
   'So, what's up? What's going on?'



8) (INT. SHOTTFIELD AVENUE. SUNDAY)

    The camera is now on the able and focuses onto    Rahul's face and starts speaking. Whilst speaking, he starts to hold his head in his  hands.

   (RAHUL PURI)
   ‘Right. I need to ask you a very important question because it’s really playing with my mind and I don’t know what to do’


     9)  (INT.  SHOTTFIELD AVENUE. SUNDAY)

    Sophie Puri starts to speak whilst the camera perpendicular to their conversation curves from Sophie to Rahul along a 180 degree line.

       (SOPHIE PURI)
  ‘Oh no, well, you know I am always here for you no matter what!’

       (RAHUL PURI)
       ‘Thanks, Basically..’


10) (INT.  SHOTTFIELD AVENUE. SUNDAY)
    
    The camera is on a close up of Sophie's face but to the side as she replies to Rahul in the conversation. She says her line with a sense of anticipation and eagerness to find   out what is really playing on his mind.

    (SOPHIE PURI)
    'Yeah?'


11) (INT.  SHOTTFIELD AVENUE. SUNDAY)

   The view turns to a perpendicular view of their conversation along the 180 degree angle.     Rahul at this stage is still stressing

   (RAHUL PURI)
      ‘I have been stressing out about what to put into my Media Studies Preliminary task project. It's killing me! Please help me with this.’


    12) (INT. SHOTTFIELD AVENUE. SUNDAY)

   Point of View of Rahul who is mid-conversation receives Sophie's reply who is still opposite him but stands up and walks round to Rahul.

         (SOPHIE PURI)
         'Are you crazy?'--(Followed by a short laugh)

    
    13) (INT. SHOTTFIELD AVENUE. SUNDAY)

  Point of View of Sophie. She is looking at Rahul and puts her hands on his face and reassures him with advice.

         (SOPHIE PURI)
     'Ok, A really good idea would be to make your project on the conversation we are having now.

   


   14) (INT. SHOTTFIELD AVENUE. SUNDAY)

     The camera from a long shot from the stairs shows the two of them getting up and leaving the dining room with a smiling Rahul followed by a laughing Sophie who both walk out of screen. The camera then turns to the back of the kitchen showing Rahul leaving the house, turning around. The camera angle again turns to next to Rahul and shows him thanking Sophie.

    (RAHUL PURI)
    'Thank you so much'

-Camera angle changes to her face to a medium shot             
   
    (SOPHIE PURI)
    'Bye'


  15) (EXT. SHOTTFIELD AVENUE. SUNDAY)

    The camera is a POV of the door showing Rahul walking away and turning left so he is out of screen.
